Melis Agabigum
'In this work, individual cones melt and mollify into each other, shifting from one state to another; from utilitarian to poetic.
While considered a necessity during the kiln firing process, these beautifully transformed objects are thrown away once they have been fired. I cynically see this process paralleled often in life and relationships when connections between individuals disintegrate. By salvaging and transforming these discarded cone packs into jewelry, I bring new life to these objects. This act of creation rather than disposal modifies their life cycle from being discarded, useless items into precious objects that tell a story of metamorphosis and purpose' |
