Lynne Speake
'Man upsets me
The planet is upset by man. He destroys it with .... his plastic his cruelty his greed. He is lazy .... he discards his ugliness into the beauty. But I find these things that he throws away. They are not worthless They are in themselves beautiful They are treasures, They are unique, Like the planet they are beautiful .... and they .... are precious .... to me' |
Bio:
Originally a Painter Lynne Speake is directly influenced, inspired and excited by things unnoticed ... erosion, peeling paint, rusting metal, colour, texture and pattern. Lynne loves the sculptural challenge of combining found industrial and organic objects and hand formed Porcelain elements. Predominantly large in scale work can often sit either on the body, table or a wall. Dictated to and led by her materials for Lynne it is the emotional journey of making that is the most important part, everything else is secondary.... Regularly exhibiting in both in the UK and Internationally she is founder and creative director of @Precious.Collective. https://www.lynnespeake.com |
